Rosie has been involved in art education since 1976 and has been running private art groups since 1991. Rosie has been painting and exhibiting her paintings throughout the province, She also runs workshops and sketching holidays.

Rosie is interested in the formal elements of drawing and painting i.e. line, tone, shape, form and colour and the technical skills of the main forms of media e.g. oils, acrylics, pastels, watercolour, gouache, charcoal, collage etc, but also encourages experimentation in style.

“My work is first and foremost intimate and reflective, a personal response to my subject matter.

My chosen method of working is figurative, weaving underlying abstract forms into reality and, in the process, creating a sense of presence – a vibration”

Day three painting outdoors – Sunday 24th May

Grahame Booth is one of Ireland’s best known watercolour tutors. He has been teaching watercolour for over 25 years at workshops all over the world including a fair number in Portaferry and Strangford and his paintings have won many national and international awards. Grahame has written three books on watercolour techniques and has contributed to many others. He also writes regularly for Artists and Illustrators magazine and has a strong online presence with over 25000 subscribers to his YouTube painting channel. In common with most artists he believes that plein air painting is the key to gaining confidence and skill irrespective of the medium and he is looking forward to revisiting some of his favourite painting locations at the Portaferry plein air festival.
