PORTAFERRY PLEIN AIR FESTIVAL

5 Day Experience, with 3 Days of Outdoor Painting with Portaferry Art Society

We are excited to bring our first festival of outdoor painting to all lovers of painting “en plein air”. Portaferry has much to offer the artist with it’s “village” feel and it’s proximity to Strangford Lough, a marine conservation site and a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

A Taste of Portaferry’s Outstanding Natural Beauty that you can express through painting

We have a strong tradition of outdoor painting among Portaferry Art Society members stemming from James Watson’s watercolour weeks during the summers of the 1980s. The society was established over forty years ago and currently has around thirty amateur and professional artist members.

Whatever your level of expertise in painting, indoor or outdoor- this is the festival for you!

The idea of the festival is about experiencing being part of an artistic community, connecting with the heritage of Portaferry; a vibrant, historic village and having fun! Doesn’t that sound worth being part of?

We have teamed up with support from Portaferry Regeneration Ltd. who have kindly helped sponsor this event with money from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. We want you to enjoy this amazing village and realise the potential of your creative skills.
